10 Essential Tips for Beginners

1. First of all, remember to have a calm and clear mind. When you first attempt to drive, feeling nervous and excited is natural which is good as long as it doesn’t cloud your judgment. Stay Focused!

2. Get through with your car and learn its inside out. It is very important to take a better look at its system, clutch, brakes etc; so that you do not get confused once you are in the middle of the road.

3. When you are driving for the first time, it is innate to get conscious about your driving. It is very important that you don’t bother other driver’s opinion about you and follow the traffic rules.

4. Try to get a good look at the traffic around you and not just the car in front, because beginners tend to do that. Just look a long way down the road and be prepared way before.

5. Before starting a car always check if it is in neutral gear or not. Don’t push the accelerator too hard, because that makes the car to hit the road and hence leads to accidents.

6. Use all your senses while driving and not just your vision. It is not only the traffic around you that needs your attention but also your own car. You should look out for weird noises and smells coming from your car or how it feels when you are driving.

7. Don’t get carried away on the road and start driving a little loose, just because you have not committed any mistake. Confidence is good, but it’s over-confidence that should be avoided.

8. It is always good to learn basic automotive mechanics for emergencies. The basics include changing a tire, adding oil and coolant to the car, etc.

9. When you are the first car on an intersection signal, before crossing, look to your left and right. This is to avoid any collision with a rogue driver.

10. Finally, just remember to have fun and enjoy your driving. Take out your car for a quick spin on the road, it makes you feel free and fresh.
